“By returning organic matter to the earth and using resources thoughtfully, we can create gardens that are not only beautiful but resilient, supporting both the environment and future generations."

This Scholarship is my opportunity to immerse myself in gardens that present new challenges and learning opportunities beyond what I experience in my daily work. I hope to build strong, long-term relationships with people who share a passion for plants, sustainability, and garden design for future collaboration and professional growth.

I am eager to see how different gardens and organisations are addressing environmental challenges. By learning about sustainable practices in action across different work sites and climates, I hope to bring back new ideas that could contribute to making our local practices more efficient, environmentally friendly, and forward-thinking.

For this I want to travel to Singapore, home to some of the world’s most innovative and inspiring botanical landscapes. The way Singapore seamlessly blends nature into the urban environment is something I find incredibly exciting, and I look forward to the opportunity to learn from their approach.

“They show initiative, and a selfless commitment to education, sustainability, and innovation. Their responses reflect thoughtfulness, strong self-awareness, and a proactive mindset. They are not only technically skilled, but also personally driven to share, mentor, and improve systems for the benefit of others.”
