“This scholarship represents an opportunity to deepen the values that shape my life: connecting land, community, and sustainability.”

This Scholarship represents an opportunity to deepen the values that shape my life: connecting land, community, and sustainability. Gaining global experience in sustainable horticulture will equip me to start an eco-conscious gardening business in Australia that regenerates urban spaces, champions environmentally responsible solutions, and nurtures both people and land.

I hope to travel to South America - to Brazil, Costa Rica and Argentina, to explore cultures where community-based living, sustainability, and inclusive development are deeply rooted. These countries offer rich, diverse examples of how local communities lead innovative responses to global challenges like climate change, food security, and gender inequality.

I’d like to bring back ideas and strategies that can inform inclusive environmental and horticultural practices in my own context, helping build a more sustainable future for all.
