2025 | Trade - Butchery
"Sustainability is important to me, and I am actively working to reduce plastic use in my workplace, promote biodegradable packaging, and explore ways to achieve net-zero operations in the meat industry."
This Scholarship is an opportunity to improve my skills in butchery and broaden my view on what is possible throughout my trade. Learning ways of creating products not yet in Australia, bringing part of different cultures back with me, and creating wonderful new things to share with customers and the ones they love.
The health of our world is also of great importance to me. Finding different ways to eliminate the use of plastic in both small shops and large wholesalers in the meat industry, and seeing how other countries deal with this issue, would be incredible.
I would love to travel to Spain because of its rich history with meat production and cursing and smallgoods production.
Spain has some of the best pork in the world - learning more about how it is used and produced including farming practices would be an honour.
“This applicant does have potential to become a great candidate. I can see underlining sustainable issues within the industry arising and making the applicant more aware of them. Which could lead to them furthering their interest in wanting a better/greener future. I see them finding more love in creating more products, in which could close the gap even further for wastage in the industry.”
